A once beautiful old growth juniper woodland devastated by illegal wood cutting

This is one of the illegal wood cutting sites visited by the MNF Supervisor in August of 2011. This site continued to be active during the rest of the 2011/2012 season after her visit. Firewood will be cut here until there are no desirable old junipers left. The MNF did nothing, no road closure, no patrols of the area during wood cutting season, nothing to stop the illegal old growth cutting taking place in this old juniper woodland.
