Old Growth Western Juniper

Bull Creek Allotment Habitat Restoration Project

BLM Surprise Field Office, Cedarville, California

Project Located in Washoe County, Nevada

Proposed January 5, 2015

Springs in the desert that flow year round are extremely important for wildlife of all kinds, including the sage grouse mentioned so many times in the Bull Creek Project. Unfortunately, the springs along Bull Creek are not excluded from cattle grazing and are degraded to the point that they are of questionable use for wildlife. While the BLM is improving habitat in the Bull Creek Allotment it seems like an opportune time to construct exclosures around the many springs feeding Bull Creek. The following images are from a spring that feeds Bull Creek and is within the boundary of the proposed project.
