Old Growth Western Juniper

Bull Creek Allotment Habitat Restoration Project

BLM Surprise Field Office, Cedarville, California

Project Located in Washoe County, Nevada

Proposed January 5, 2015

The BLM Surprise Field Office has implemented many juniper removal/habitat improvement projects throughout its management area. We have come across many where the method of habitat improvement used by the BLM was to simply cut down the juniper present and leave it where it falls. The Bull Creek Allotment is no different. In the past, a habitat improvement project occurred along a portion of Bull Creek. It is not clear what the goals were for Bull Creek when the BLM implemented this particular habitat improvement. The following images are from this portion of Bull Creek within the proposed project.
